A Question to Canadian Tire

You have always been a favourite of mine

I have always found a reason
to visit
I have always left
fulfilled

Oh, alright
I have always left
with a shopping bag filled

Last week, I was in a pinch
Forgot some product at home
and knew
you had what I needed

I raced over to the cleaning product aisle
looked where I knew it would be
but it was not
Ahhhh
They must be sold out
Oh well
A natural substitute will have to do
I looked on the shelves
among all of the toxic cleaning products

and did not seem to find
a single natural cleaner

Oh, hold on
there they are
on the bottom shelf
all in a row

There was a time
when they graced the same shelves
as their toxic counterparts
standing side by side

And now they are in nowhere land
where no one tends to venture

I'm wondering what you think about Mrs. Meyers and Method. I have a house cleaning business and I use these 2 products mainly because they don't test on animals. Thanks, I'm so happy that I found your blog.

Hello Tonya...I am really happy you find my blog as well...it gave me a chance to look at yours....I too am a love of vintage...used to own a collectible store.

As for the Mrs. Meyers and Method products....my issue with them is their use of synthetic fragrances...as a proprietary ingredient most companies do not have to disclose what ingredients are in their fragrances. I personally cannot work with synthetic fragrances so therefore do not use them.

As a cleaning business owner you might find, in time, as your company grows your product cost is high....this is because you are using products aimed at the consumer and not the janitorial arena.

Instead of Mrs. Meyers, I would suggest Seventh Generation (personally I like Nature Clean but this is a Canadian product, hard to find in the U.S.)and check out Global Cleaning Association for all-purpose recipes that you can use in your business costing you pennies a bottle (under .27 per)..As for the heavier cleaning products, Eco Mist Solutions (again, another Canadian company but you can purchase concentrates from Ted Fagan that will be shipped to you and will cost approx. 2.50 per 32 oz bottle of degreaser of heavy soap scum remover). No animal testing done on either and both are Natural products.

I hope this helps you a bit and I do look forward to hearing from you again.
